Antioch Christian Church (Kansas City, Missouri)

Antioch Christian Church is a historic church located at 4805 NE Antioch Road in Kansas City, Missouri. It was built in 1859, and is a one-story, frame building sheathed in clapboard siding. It has a front gable roof and measures approximately 33 feet wide and 51 feet, 6 inches, deep. It was moved to its present location in 1968.: 2 The church was originally organized in 1853 by Reverend Moses E. Lard, a prominent evangelist. The 1859 building actively served the congregation until 1957. Today, this original building is a registered local historical site maintained by current church members, used for special worship services and events like weddings.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Antioch Church has been an important landmark in southern Clay County since the mid-19th century, lending its name to local features like Antioch Road, Antioch Middle School, and the former Antioch Shopping Center. In 1930, the church became a "Community Church" and is now aligned with the International Council of Community Churches (ICCC), an international and interracial fellowship dedicated to Christian unity. Its mission is to proclaim the good news of abundant life in Christ through worship, provide spiritual nurture, and serve as an agent of justice and mercy. The church offers various opportunities for spiritual enrichment, including in-person and live-streamed services, adult Sunday School and Bible study, a women's missions organization ("Daughters of Antioch"), and a monthly fellowship breakfast for men.
